Past Demons

 

Outside the sun was shining. Some small children were playing a game down by the park, rolling a wheel over the grass. A beautiful couple was walking by, holding hands. She could see their eyes, glimmering with love and affection.

Inside everything was dark.

The demons were always there. Memories from times that should have been in the past, but never let go. Treasons and fears.

-So…. You wanna play chess or something? One of them said, a trauma from childhood. From the days her family lived by the lake. Her uncle and his dogs.

-Sure, she said. -Why not.

She might as well make the best of it.
